A Ride in the Spanish Clouds and all that Jazz.
What better to finish off Barcelona than to talk about the amazing jazz scene and amazing views discovered by a ride in the clouds? Barcelona has some fairly renowned jazz clubs. The one I will be focusing on is the Harlem Jazz Club – my personal favorite. We ended up seeing a live jazz session led by the composer Hernán Senra. This band just released their newest record entitled ‘Second Roll’ encompasing everything from Blues Jazz to some faster pace Swing Jazz. We had an amazing time watching them and the venue was packed. I would heavily recommend checking out this venue if you ever travel to Barcelona. Each night we stopped by we always had the opportunity to hear something unique and meet a ton of people. (And, the beer was really well priced!)
On our last day in Barcelona we decided that we wanted a view of the beaches and the city from the clouds. So we sought out a way we could make this happen. Low and behold –we discovered a massive gondola! The gondola provided us with a spectacular view of Barcelona as well as the beautiful beaches and ocean. At the end of the gondola ride we had the opportunity to walk around a mountain-top park and checked out a few fountains and sculptures.
With Paris and Barcelona behind us, we prepared to make our way to Nice, France. Apparently it has the nicest beaches around. I guess only time will tell.
Onward to Nice!
P.S You can check out the Jazz acts that play at the Harlem Jazz club here.
